For more than ten years, citizens in Central Kitsap have needed a gathering space for club meetings and community events — where free or low-cost courses, information sessions, and recreational classes could be offered. We are making that place a reality!
Programming will be tailored to the needs of all community sectors — preschoolers, teens, adults, families and seniors. Imagine building a sense of belonging and shared experiences with people from many neighborhoods. That’s the vision for the Silverdale Community Center.
We are your neighbors. Some of us served or are currently serving on the Central Kitsap Community Council. Working with Commissioner Katie Walters, we rekindled the dream to create a Community Center in Silverdale. We established the Silverdale Community Center Foundation in 2025.
Our current board members include: Donna Hart, Renee Overath, Frankie Delossantos, Roy Wildes, Darryl Wright, Frank Leach, Kim Bialock, Richard Arper, David Emmons and Bruce Brazier.

Silverdale Senior Center, Our County Commissioners, especially Katie Walters, The Rotary Club of Silverdale, The Kiwanis Club of Silverdale, Meals on Wheels, The Greater Kitsap Chamber of Commerce, Easter Seals of Washington, Kitsap Bank, and many individuals who have donated their time and talent to make the Center a reality.
Use your imagination…that’s what we will offer the community. There are so many possibilities. Would you join in any of the following?
A variety of language classes, writing, figurative drawing, pastel, acrylic or oil painting, knit, crochet, and quilting.
Monthly community gatherings for families such as a 4th of July picnic, Halloween fun and Thanksgiving activities.
Meet ups with new and old friends for games, meals and activities.
Drop-in space to play online games together, do homework or hang out with friends.

What programs would you like to see in your community center?
What space do you need in your community center?
Creating this Center is no easy task. It has taken a strong will, a collaborative mindset, and a creative bend. Now it needs to be fueled by funding to make it a reality. Your generous gift, one-time, monthly, or sustaining will make the difference between a dream and reality. Maybe you’d like to sponsor an activity that is close to your heart. Contact us – we’ll listen!
